Ray and Charles Eames first produced the DCW chair in the 1940's after a series of experiments with forming veneer under heat and pressure. The result, named the DCW (Dining Chair Wood) was a brilliant blend of elegant and affordable design.
The DCW was named the Best Design of the twentieth century by time magazine.
The seat shells are made from molded 8-ply plywood with hardwood inner plies. Rubber shock mounts are fitted to the seat and backrest, as per the original design.
This is an unauthorised reproduction of the original design.
