Obscura Gallery believes that photography is a powerful artistic medium, that can lead us to engage with the world on different levels. The gallery represents established, award-winning artists, as well as emerging photographers, from Australia and abroad.

Philippine-born Emmanuel Santos is one of Melbourne's most celebrated modern photographers. His photographs often explore religious themes in a dramatic manner, and this series on angels is no exception. Inspired by Renaissance painters, his "angels" are set against modern backdrops, in an unexpected juxtaposition that surprises and delights.
