Jodie Fried is a young Sydney-based designer with a passion for textiles and people.  She first visited the Gujarati desert communities of India some years ago, after earthquake had destroyed their villages.  After assisting with rebuilding, Fried decided there was more that could be done.  She saw that the women were very skilled with embroidery, and decided to start Bholu. 

Every Bholu piece is designed in Australia and hand-embroidered by the Gujarati women in India, who make a good living from their work, and their community also benefits from every sale.  Bholu is proudly FairTrade accredited. 

Bholu rugs are made from 100% New Zealand Felted wool and are individually handcrafted by artisans in India. Not only are they a gorgeous addition to your home, a percentage of sales go to local schools in surrounding communities. That's just part of what makes Bholu rugs so special.

Please note that all rugs are all handmade to order and can be delayed by 8 weeks. They are definitely worth the wait though!
