The name Koonara comes from the name the Reschke family property in Australia's most famous wine region, Coonawarra, which produces low yield, high quality wines, under the capable watch of head winemaker Peter Douglas (ex Wynns).  Because only a small number of cases of each vintage are made, and they are only available through selected outlets, Koonara wines are a rare treat. 

A pure Shiraz from the outstanding Coonawara region, this wine exhibits a bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, vanilla and dark chocolate, tempered by a leathery complexity: a very big, dense wine.
